The Giftlands gang: Nala and Tuma’s story
It is time for another story from the Giftlands farm! This time we are going to find out how Nala and Tuma came to live on the farm. We are going to find out how their mom and dad met, how Nala and Tuma met their parents, and why Tuma loves to sing! Their story may not be exactly like yours, but you can definitely learn a thing or two from these amazing siblings. So, let’s dive into the next Giftlands gang story!
Nala and Tuma’s parents could not have any children of their own so they decided to adopt a child. It was love at first sight when they met Nala and Tuma and they became a family. Nala and Tuma know that they were adopted by their parents and they love them for it, because they have an amazing life on the farm!
Their parents
Nala and Tuma’s parents met when they were in college. Their dad studied agriculture and their mother studied to become a craft distiller. Both started working on the farm after they graduated, their dad tends to the sugar cane fields and their mom runs a big distillery on the farm where she makes her famous Giftlands Whiskey.
Once they got to the Giftlands farm they met Johnny and Ellie’s parents. The two sets of parents soon became best friends, and their kids grew up like siblings. But, being just like four siblings means having double the sibling love and squabbles along the way. The farm is all that the four kids know, and they absolutely love it there!
Tuma
Tuma was born slightly autistic, this means that he had trouble communicating with people around him when he was younger. Even today he sometimes finds it difficult to say what he thinks and feels. When his mom and dad first realised that he had a problem communicating they took him to music therapy. This is where Tuma learnt to communicate through song, and where he found his super soprano voice. Tuma loves to use his gift for singing to make others happy and to express his love for God and the people around him. Just like his dad, Tuma has a great sense of humour and loves to laugh! He learnt very early on that laughter can also be a way to help you communicate with the people you love.
Nala
Nala was born with bucket loads of energy! Her zesty personally and spunky attitude comes from her mom. Her mom taught her to be a go-getter and to be independent just like her. Nala wants to succeed at everything that she does, from sheep herding to loving her friends and family with all of her heart. With her drive to win and her enormous amount of energy, Nala’s dad has his hands full reminding her to slow things down and have fun along the way!
Nala and Tuma receive tonnes of love, laughter and support from their parents and they strive to give it back every day of their lives.
